    Hi Jaime,

As a blogger and as someone who claims to know “facts”, shouldn’t these “facts” be subject to debate and be defensible? The New King James bible states to “Study to show thyself approved, a workman that needeth not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” 2 Timothy 2:15.

If this is so, then I am re-posting my original post here to respectfully give you an opportunity to present a “fact based” defense and rebuttal. I am sure you would agree with me that your readers deserve to review this information and come to their own conclusions based on BOTH sides of our arguments.

    Here is my original post:

MORMONISM is NOT a “CHRISTIAN” denomination or church-and its core teachings are NOT CONGRUENT with Protestant/Judeo Christianity as laid out in the old and new testaments as you mentioned in Point # 9.

Point number 21 would better read “…is one of the fastest growing ‘RELIGIONS’ in the world today..”

MORMONISM IS NOT AT ALL “Christianity” if your Point number 3 is true. The Protestant Christian Church can trace its roots all the way back to the day that Jesus said “…I will make you fishers of men”. Or at least all the way back to AD 33 and the early church as recorded in the book of Acts in the Christian Bible. If “god” told Joseph Smith that there were no “true” churches then Joseph Smith would have to have “invented christianity” in 1830. (use of little “g” and little “c” on purpose.)

Of course this is obviously NOT TRUE.

Where as there exists mountains of historical evidence proving the Deity of Christ and the existence of the 12 disciples, along with all of the patriarchs of the old testament-Where is the proof of the existence of the angel “Moroni” upon which so much Mormon doctrine hinges on? Sorry to be a “Christian” that is a skeptic, but it is a question that deserves an answer.

Also-if “mormonism” is a form of Christianity-then why does its teachings CONFLICT with the teachings on salvation as taught in several books of the King James new testament? That is that the remission and forgiveness of sins comes thru faith in Christ ALONE and becoming “Born Again”. (See Romans Chapt. 10) .

This is ANOTHER valid question that begs an answer?

The truth is that Joseph Smith INVENTED his own religion, no different than Jim Jones or David Koresh, or the founders of the Jehovah Witnesses, Scientology, or even Budhism…..

Every “religion” outside of Judeo/Christianity seeks to CORRECT Judeo/Christianity as taught in the Old and New Testaments ALONE….hence “Mormonism” is NO DIFFERENT than Hinduism, Scientology, jehovahs witnesses, ect. et al.. in that all of these “religions” seek to correct the only “truth path to God and salvation” thru faith in Christ. EVERY RELIGION outside of Judeo/Christianity has this same thread in common: that is that they ALL seek to change the one, TRUE church of God and His message as recorded in the Old and New Testaments.

Mormons are sincere. Not unlike Jehovah Witnesses, or even scientologists. But they are all SINCERELY WRONG in their attempts to ‘correct’ Judeo/Christianity.

The bible says “not to corrupt the simplicity that is faith in Christ Jesus”…2 Corinthians 11:3

That’s one of the reasons the bible warns NOT to “take away” or “add to” Scripture as recorded in the old and new testaments. In fact-this warning is the LAST scripture in the bible as recorded in the “Book of Revelation” which actually deals mainly with future history which would include the 1830’s.

In other words God (big “G”) would NEVER send an angel or anyone else since that writing mentioned above to “add more scripture” . God cannot go against His own word. So why would God tell Joseph Smith to break the last commandment ever recorded in scripture?

Ergo the writings of Joseph Smith are no more “the word of God” than the writings of Muhammed in the koran…..whose to say whose “outside the bible” writings are correct ?? Can you really call the “book of mormon” superior in veracity than the koran? Especially since both conflict with the Old and New Testaments as mentioned as “true” in point #3 above?

Satan is called the father of lies and he will use what ever “religion” necessary so that people won’t become saved by becoming “born again” as stated by Jesus himself. If the flavor some one needs is an “American Centric” false religion known as mormonism then so be it. If worshiping trees as a secular humanist will keep you from Christ, GREAT. That’s how Satan thinks….

But simply stating that a religion started a scant 180 years ago (which is not much older than the jehovah witness cult) is the “true form” of Christianity does not make it so!

If mormonism, or any other “religion” conflicts with what is taught in the Old and New Testaments then throw it away as simply another LIE from the devil…..

I would love to hear your answers to the questions I posed above-Especially about “moroni” (who to me is no more real than xenu which is the ‘alien overlord’ god of scientology) and I look forward to seeing your rebuttle to what I presented here…

…can’t handle debating with someone with FACTS and history on his side bro?

Its amazing how fast you took down my comment from last night……

      Thank you for your reply.
As you are aware, TheFactSite is a site to share short facts about a various of topics, and is in no way a blog dedicated to theological arguments such as “What is Christianity?”.

I understand that you personally do not believe in the Angel Moroni, and have been taught that Mormonism, along with other denominations such as the Jehovah’s Witnesses are not Christian, but this is just a matter of opinion only. Here at TheFactSite we try to take an unbiased approach to all things, especially on the topics of religion and politics.

Your list is surprisingly correct. Most lists about the Mormons sadly are dripping with hatred and bigotry. There were a couple of minor errors in your list though… #7 Brigham Young University is in Provo, UT, not Salt Lake City, UT.

but well done, that was very informative and factual.I see that they rely much more on the teaching from the book of Mormon than the bible’s teachings. But they obviously believe both books to be the Word of God.Thank u for posting this.
