How To Cure A Hangover

Ever needed to be somewhere but cant make it because of a hangover? Here are a few things you could try which could make your day go on as planned. There are many ways to get over a hangover, although it’s mainly down to what you eat and drink.

Avoid caffeine, drinking tea, coffee and fizzy drinks won’t help, it’ll just continue to dehydrate you, which you don’t want to happen. Instead drink water or fruit juice.

Sleeping for as long as possible helps, because it’s relaxing and while your asleep you don’t realise how bad you feel. When you get up, take a shower and keep changing the water hot to cold.

One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach and with the help of the honey, builds up low blood sugar levels, while the milk re-hydrates you.

Also it has been said that exercising can help you recover, drinking water in between to keep you hydrated.

So next time your hung-over, stay asleep for as long as possible, get up and have a shower, replace your morning tea with a banana milkshake and run to work with a bottle of water, by the time you get there you should be cured!

  4. @ James...
    Alcohol dehydrates you right?

'In chemistry, a dehydration reaction is usually defined as a chemical reaction that involves the loss of water from the reacting molecule'

Drinking water therefore replaces the lost water. The faster you recover the water that you have lost, then the faster you get over the hang over...

Only if we assume there is a link between dehydration and a hangover, their isn't that I know of.

Both dehydration and a hangover are symptoms of having consumed alcohol but dehydration does not cause the hangover. So becoming rehydrated won't cure the hangover.
