Facts About MySpace and Facebook

MySpace and Facebook are the two most common social networking sites, followed by Bebo and all the rest. The main way its split up is Facebook is for the 'older' people, by older I mean, college students and above. MySpace is mainly for singers and people that know a bit about HTML. Then there's Bebo.. well, everyone's got one, but nobody uses it.

As you may know MySpace was founded by Tom Anderson and Chris Dewolfe in 2003. They saw an opportunity to make a bigger and better social network than the others at the time like Friendster. In 2005 MySpace was purchased for roughly £418 million by Rupert Murdoch. Rupert Murdoch is the creator of 20th Century Fox and Fox Television stations. MySpace gets about fourty billion page views a month also Google paid about £648 Million to be MySpace’s search provider, and if you sit and think about that for a minute, that's A LOT!

Facebook was originally named 'TheFaceBook' and it was developed and made by Harvard student Mark Zuckerberg. The first use of Facebook was limited to the Harvard campus only. Soon after, Mark Zuckerberg dropped out of Harvard and made Facebook official. Facebook spread around the world like wild fire and now is the fourth most-trafficked websites in the world with over ninety million users. Also Facebook has more than twenty four million photos uploaded daily.
